Final Dungeon Quest
An experimental first person dungeon crawler entirely cowboy coded out in 3 weeks for the Premium Crayon and Kazoo Jam. Seriously, I went into this with no plans beyond "make silly 3d dungeon game with kicking as a core mechanic, built around Sugarcube2."
In the end, it turned out both better and worse than I could've expected. It's actually pretty neat, all things considered. I really could've used those 10 days I missed, though.
I'd initially hoped for 5 unique and 4 procedural floors. In the jam window, I managed 4 unique floors, 0 procedural, and less than half the desired mechanics. But, it's reasonably stable (even if a bit spaghetti coded) and I've plenty of room to build off of so there's that.
It goes without saying that I'm not done with this little project just yet. Expect a few updates in the coming weeks to add some basic features, those missing ~5 floors, a few puzzles, drastically expanded rpg mechanics, and some proper itemization to forcibly shove this more into line with something respectable from the genre.
(But, first I'll probably release something for the Really bad IF Jam.)
(Game download is currently disabled because CORS nukes texture loading. Looking into options. Might be a day or two.)
